What if the transfer case has an abnormal sound?

There are two kinds of abnormal sounds, one is the high frequency sound, that is, the higher the rotational speed of the transfer case, the louder the sound. This situation must be stopped and repaired as soon as possible. Generally, the bearing is faulty. If it is ignored, the bearing will be completely damaged. And the gears, even the damage transfer case problem, caused an unrecoverable fault.

The other is the low-frequency sound. When the speed is near the idle speed, the sound is loudest. The real high-speed operation of the pump is no sound. This kind of noise has little effect, but it is a little uncomfortable. It is a resonance phenomenon in the low frequency state, and it is not a problem with a certain component. Repair can be easily solved by re-operating the balance of the drive shaft.

The transfer case cover is cracked. Can you just change the cover?

No! The transfer case is processed at the same time, and there is no interchangeability between the different cover and the housing. If you have to do this, the installation process is no problem, but the life of bearings and gears is greatly reduced, and it is not stable for a long time. The correct way is that the shell or the lid is cracked, and the shell and the lid are replaced directly, so that it can be replaced once and for all.

Why does the transfer case come out of the top?

You are really wrong with the transfer case, it is your boom pump or the main oil pump leaking oil, and the transfer case is not half-credit relationship, quickly remove the oil pump to repair it. Finally, I would like to remind you that after the transfer case has been repaired, you must remember to add enough gear oil. Do not add less, and do not add more. If the addition is less than the lubrication effect, the bearing and gear wear will be intensified and prematurely damaged; if added, the resistance will be large, the heat dissipation will be slow, the bearing life will be affected, and the energy consumption will be high.
